On June 8, 2025, LYYM Beauty successfully held the Beauty & Makeup: GLOW UP 2025 event — a special day for the beauty-loving community in Japan. More than just a creative stage, GLOW UP 2025 served as a launchpad for career dreams, a spark for renewed confidence, and a major milestone for the Vietnamese and international beauty community in Japan.
A gathering of reputable names and partners in the industry
GLOW UP 2025 marked the 7-year journey of formation and growth of LYYM Beauty — a beauty ecosystem founded and operated by Vietnamese professionals in Japan. More than an industry event, it showcased the results of a tireless journey: gradually connecting with organizations, building trust within the community, and positively influencing Japan’s multicultural beauty scene.
One of the clearest indicators of this success was the presence of leading partners and industry experts:
Mr. Sasaki – representative of the JMAN Association, not only a technical advisor but also a close companion of LYYM Beauty Academy in training makeup professionals to Japanese standards.
Naris Cosmetics – a prestigious Japanese cosmetic brand, continuing its partnership with LYYM as a strategic ally, supporting the academy in building a professional and modern learning environment.
Makeup Artists (MUAs) – from alumni to guest speakers and professionals: they didn’t just perform and share real-world experiences, but also delivered powerful inspiration. Their presence gave participants a closer look into the real working world — from techniques and processes to the mindset required for a serious and creative beauty career.
A space to inspire the beauty-loving community
GLOW UP 2025 was designed as an empathetic response to the silent aspirations of Vietnamese and other foreign beauty enthusiasts living in Japan.
It addressed the doubts of young newcomers who had just set foot in a new country — passionate about beauty but unsure where or how to begin, or whether there was truly a path for them. It echoed the concerns of experienced technicians who, despite years of hands-on work, still struggled with career clarity — doing the job, but unsure where it might lead.
At GLOW UP, they were heard, seen, and most importantly, connected with like-minded individuals. Most of all, they felt something they had never been told before: that they deserve a formal education, fair exams, and official recognition — just like any other beauty professional in Japan.
First-ever public introduction of the JMAN Makeup Certificate for the Vietnamese and international community in Japan
One of the event’s highlights was the introduction of the JMAN Makeup Certificate to the broader Vietnamese and foreigner beauty community in Japan. It was the first time this prestigious certificate was publicly explained in Vietnamese and made available through formal training and testing conducted by a foreigner-oriented institution.
For years, many Vietnamese professionals in Japan have relied solely on informal “on-the-job” learning — without official credentials or standardized systems. This lack of structure has limited their long-term opportunities and career advancement.
Now, with JMAN partnering with LYYM Beauty to offer training and certification, a new chapter begins. This strategic collaboration not only broadens the reach of standardized qualifications but also helps legitimize the skilled yet unofficial labor force in the beauty industry.
With the launch of the JMAN training program at LYYM Beauty, students no longer have to choose between “freelance practice” and “Japanese standards.” They can now pursue their passion and build a legitimate, sustainable, and officially recognized career in the beauty industry.
